Liaan Ferreira (born 2 July, 1986) is an international multi-award-winning actor. Ferreira has become one of the most talked-about actors in Hollywood and New York this past year. After starring in the hit Indie film original drama “Visor,” the actor went on to secure one of the most coveted awards of the past festival season.
2021 has been an exceptional year for Ferriera: Liaan won 13 awards of 20 Nominations for his role in the critically acclaimed independent short film, Visor.
He has received several accolades throughout his career, including “Best Lead Actor” at Top Shorts Los Angeles, Halicarnassus Film Festival located in Bodrum, Turkey, the Actor Awards Los Angeles, New York Movie Awards, New York Film Awards, New York International Film Awards, Festigious Los Angeles, Paris Film Awards and London International Film Awards for his portrayal as ‘Mason’ the lead role in the dramatic short film. His notable appearance and dedication to his craft landed him a spot on the Hollywood film festivals “Top 10 Actors to Watch for 2021” list. 2021 has been an exceptional year for Ferriera: he won 13 Best Actor Awards with 20 Nominations for his role in the critically acclaimed independent short film, Visor. Liaan Ferreira is one of the most exciting and electrifying personalities on stage and television today. In South Africa he is best known as Frank du Plooy, the no-nonsense handsome young lawyer. In KYKNET’s Getroud Met Rugby, the Cape Town star has a bright future ahead. Earlier this year he also starred in SA’s most iconic soap opera, 7de Laan. In his genius portrayal as Llewellyn Paulsen, he was part of local TV history when he played a vital and complex character on the show. Where are born and raised?
Born in Jozi but I’ve been living in beautiful Somerset West, Cape Town for the last 13 years.
Did you study something after school?
I’m known for my unorthodox acting method.
I think this comes from my unrelenting passion to consume knowledge and creating my own unique style by always learning on the job and be better than my last performance. I want to be the best actor I possibly can be. Personally, I don’t think you ever stop learning.
How do you prepare for a role?
Recite, Research, and Relax. I have my process, it constantly evolves.
How do you handle a difficult character or scene?
Methodically, I put myself in the situation and let it come naturally.
Have you ever had a wardrobe disaster?
Not yet. But I got a few laughs on stage while wearing extremely tight horse-riding pants as Tom Buchanan on the theatre production of The Great Gatsby.
When did you realise you want to be an actor?
At age 11.
How did you get the role in Visor?
I was contacted by the director on Instagram and he asked me if I would be interested in playing the lead role. And the rest is history!
When you started gaining fame, how did it affect your life?
Laugh. I get recognized and stopped to take selfies.

What work would you like to do behind the scenes?
Directing has always fascinated me.
What is your nightmare scenario during filming?
To be honest. As soon as I’m on set I’m ready for anything. Especially when I hear those thrilling words(“ACTION!”)

I always follow my heart! Constantly busy setting goals for myself, so I have something to strive toward. I’m not comfortable with settling, and always looking for my next opportunity to do better and achieve greatness.

To be a great actor and an even better husband.

Was there a time that you don’t want an actor anymore?
Never!!!

I don’t want to be anything else but an actor.

My wifey (Ruwé Jana Ferreira) is such a strong and beautiful human being.
