Yolandi Naicker is a woman who has a heart for people and that is what drives her to enter the Mrs. South Africa competition. So it was a joyous moment when Yolandi received a letter that said:

Congratulations! We are pleased to advise that you have been selected as a
Mrs. South Africa Semi-finalist for 2022! This is an extraordinary achievement and we cannot wait to embark on this journey of a Lifetime with you!
Olka Bolka did an interview with Yolandi to find out who she is and what her dreams and goals are.
Tell our readers where you were born and raised, and where do you currently live?
I was born and raised in Durban, KZN, and currently reside in Kempton Park, JHB
What did you do after Matric?
After I matriculated, I then did in-service training as an Executive PA for 2 years at an Electrical firm in Bluff in Durban
What profession do you practice?
I am currently in the Construction Industry.
Tell us about yourself in a nutshell?
I grew up in Wentworth Durban, I went to Collingwood Primary then completed high school in Fairvale Secondary School, then did tertiary in Unisa.
I live in Johannesburg with my two kids, and my husband currently works out of the country. I’m passionate about family activities and enjoying new experiences and making new memories. I have an NPO bread drive and a Find your voice initiative for women, which allows women and children to speak up for whatever is bothering them and mainly to speak up for their rights and let their voices be heard, in knowing that there is help and hope for them to overcome any obstacles in life.

How did you experience the pandemic 2020 up to now in 2022?
Things were hectic at the start of the pandemic, my husband was working out of the country, so we never saw him for almost 9 months as all borders were shut, that was such an emotional time for me and the kids. I was suddenly working from home and navigating remote learning. Schools were shut we had to adapt to remote google classes and me being a tutor at the same time ensured my kids still get educated. It made me realize that I needed to take a good look at how I was managing my time and to decide which tasks I needed to cut, which I needed to keep, and which I needed to delegate, luckily my mom & sister were there to support me.
I made a list of everything I must get done during an average work week and school week and created a detailed to-do list. Once I made my cuts and delegations, I created a daily schedule for my family. Having a game plan and a clear idea of what my priorities are on any given day helps me to keep stress at bay.
We did exercises with the kids to stay fit, baked new recipes watched series, read books, and just bonded as a family. The time spent with family through this trying time was so precious.
I must say currently the economy has opened up, and most restrictions have been eased, we have more freedom, things are slowly getting back to normal which is a good sign despite the new covid waves that keep occurring, I think we all have managed to pull through by the grace of God.

What made you decide to participate in Mrs. South Africa?
I did commercial shoots in my twenties, it was always one of my interests, I also had a love for style and fashion. Basically, I just wanted to rediscover myself and find my strengths and purpose. Almost like stretching myself to the limit and going way out of my comfort zone, facing and dealing and healing with all my floors and insecurities, and just finding joy in embracing my inner woman power.
Which Charity would you like to support?
I would like to give more and more aid to the KZN floods as I grew up there, it is indeed very close to me. Also, to maximize aid on my Ybread drive and grow my NPO feeding scheme, and impact and raise awareness with my Find your Voice initiative for women and children, which is very dear to me.
What is your vision should you win?
I would like to be a good role model as a strong empowered woman, wife, mother, sister, and friend. To represent my country, South Africa, in the most graceful manner, to step into my calling, to be poised and to be resilient, and mainly to be an aid to others in communities, schools, and organizations. I can’t change the world, but I am positive about making a difference with small steps.
Tell us something no one knows about you?
I like eating milo granules with a spoon from the milo tin, it tastes just like yummy chocolate. (LOL)
What inspires you?
Drive, positivity, fearlessness, being a go-getter, a game-changer, a dream-chaser, and embracing change and criticism.
What’s on your bucket list?
To climb Mount Everest.
What is your WHY in life?
Mainly to find my purpose and my passion to be a good example and to be the best possible version of Yolandi.
When is your birthday?
19 February
