Bérénice Bukasa is a lady who is someone to be watched for the future great young designers.

Berenice Bukasa, is the CEO, Founder and Designer of BERRA STYLES.

Berenice finished her fashion course at Vanessa Fanfoni Fashion Skills Development Program. BERRA STYLES, located in Pretoria, South Africa was launched on 29 April 2022.

BERRA STYLES is custom-made designer wear catering to variety with variety. Exploring industrial to street style and versatility in other styles. A brand that is proudly cruelty-free and celebrates all shapes, sizes, ages and races.

The launch was held at the beautiful Casablanca Manor in, Pretoria. As well as celebrity models and models from Vogue Model Agency.

Berenice is a talented artist and her designs are fresh, fun and beautiful.

This lady is someone to be watched for the future great young designers.

Olka Bolka did an interview with Berenice to find out more about her.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in The Democratic Republic of Congo but grew up in South Africa as I have been here since I was 3 years old.

Did you go to study after school, if so, what?

Yes, after focusing on my fashion launch I am now studying Fine Arts at UNISA.

What is your profession?

I am a Fashion designer and a Fine Artist.

When did you start making clothes and designing them?

I started designing in primary, probably in the 3rd or 4th grade. I started physically making proper in 2021.

What is your favourite clothing?

I am too versatile in my style to have a favourite, as long as the clothing is presentable and feels comfortable.

What type of clothes do you design?

For all types, I try not to limit my imagination and how explorative I can be.

You launched your label end of April 2022, how was it for you?

It was a special night filled with unforgettable moments. It was a very special night for me because it was the official beginning of BERRA STYLES. It was my first collection and it was such a journey to get there. From the guests to the hard-working team behind the scenes to the clothes looking ravishing on the models, is truly an experience I will forever be grateful for.

How did you choose the name for your clothing range?

“Very Berra” Is the name of my collection. I chose this because it expresses my signature style. Words cannot always express everything so when people see my style, they will automatically know it’s BERRA STYLES. BERRA STYLES is the name of my brand Berra is the combination of my name and my loved ones with ‘styles’ emphasising my versatility with different styles of fashion.

Some of the Mrs South Africa Pageant was VIP guests and the launch with all the models from Vogue Models. Berenice is featured in the middle.

Rea Le Roux was one of the entertainers of the evening and charmed everyone with her beautiful voice. Rea is wearing one of Vanessa Fanfoni’s designs. The gown was handpainted by Mckenzi an upcoming talented designer. The dress was designed by Pearl (a Young designer) and Vanessa Fanfoni. See the photo under.

Singer Frikkie van Biljon was our other guest artist and have the crowd in the palm of his hand with his amazing voice. On the photo is Frikkie and his wife Corlia and in the middle Miggie Krauspe who was part of organizing the launch of Berenice’s Label, Berra Styles.

What are your dreams?

My dream is to break barriers set by society and give people the comfort and confidence that they need while staying true to myself and what I believe.

Tell us about yourself in a nutshell.

I am an observant introvert who constantly observes everything closely even if it seems unimportant. I am very private and keep to myself. Art is my safe space; it allows me to escape reality. I’m always in my head even without noticing and I am curious about humans and life in general. I have several interests so I cannot easily be put into a box.

Tell us something no one knows about you.

I am actually more outgoing than people think.

What inspires you?

Everything about life and the experiences that comes with it.

If you could chat with anyone over a cup of coffee, who would it be

and why?

My sister, because she is the only person with whom I can be myself.

What is on your bucket list?

To travel around the world and see the different sceneries and cultures.

How do you want to be remembered?

As someone who did something that had an impact on people and/or society.
